The other day, I took two cabs- one in the morning, one in the afternoon (I'm not usually that fabulous- it was just a time thing).
Two minutes after entering the first cab, the driver asked me in Hebrew,
"Melafafonim?"
Translation:
"Cucumbers?"
He was right- I had just downed a whole cucumber before leaving the house (sometimes you just want a cucumber!). I asked "How did you know? Is it on my nose?"
He said, "I smell it!".
Okay...
Cut to the afternoon cab. I get in, tell him my destination, we start the journey, and he starts to snack on...
A WHOLE CUCUMBER!!!

That reminds me of the story about the man who meets a homeless fellow and takes him to a restaurant and offers him anything he wants. The poor man requests a baked apple and eats it with excitement to the last drop, immensely grateful. The other man has a long business drive ahead of him that night. It's raining hard. His car skids. The next thing he knows he re-awakens in the home of kind strangers who are nursing him back to health after his accident. He's OK, his life has been spared. They bring him something to eat. The lady of the house shows what she's brought on the tray, "I hope you like baked apple."
It means they're tasty and healthy! ze hu! :-)
